April Class Schedule

Spring is finally here! Time to venture out after the long Cleveland winter and have some fun. Crafty Goodness is offering so many classes this month, with lots of guest teachers. Click here for a printable schedule!

Art Classes
Beginning Mosaics(Chris Sorensen, instructor)
In this class you will learn the basics of mosaic and create a fun and functional piece to add to your home décor. Choose between picture frames, a mirror, a small tray or a set of 4 coasters.
Class Length: 2 hours
Price: $35
Studio will provide all necessary materials including tile, glue, grout, tools and project blank(s).
Age Level: Adult
Class Times: Wednesday, April 6th at 6 pm

Beginning Zentangle(Launie McDevitt, instructor)
In this class, you will learn the basics of Zentangle. Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. Zentangle uses an easy to understand process of simple, deliberate strokes which build upon one another in beautiful, mesmerizing and surprising ways. It is a fascinating new art form that is both fun and relaxing. No artistic skills or experience required, you don’t even need to know how to draw!

Kit Includes: All materials necessary for Zentangle I and II

Class Times: Monday, April 11th at 6:30 & Monday, April 25th at 6:30 pm

Etched Wine Glasses(Chris Sorensen, instructor)
In this class you will etch 4 glasses using stencils you create out of vinyl using precut patterns, Cricut cutting machine and various hole punches. You will also make a set of 4 glass markers with different beads and charms.
Class Length: 1.5-2 hrs
Price: $30
Kit Includes: 4 glasses, 4 glass marker blanks. Studio provides all other necessary materials.

Class Times: Monday, April 4th at 6 pm & Wednesday, April 20th at 6 pm

Polymer Clay Cane
(Linda Zolten Wood, instructor)
In this class you will learn the Italian Renaissance glass technique of Millifiore(which means a thousand flowers). You will learn how to make beads, and also how to apply the canes to a recycled tin box surface to create a useable work of art.
Class Length: 2 hours
Price: $30
Includes polymer clay, tin and all necessary tools.
Class Time: Friday, April 15th from 3-5 pm

Demonstrations
Vegan Baking Basics(Nicki Schneider, instructor)

In this class you will learn the basics of vegan baking. The class will discuss various vegan baking substitutes as well as demonstrate how to prepare two popular dessert recipes prepared vegan. You will get to sample the finished product, plus receive a dry mix to take home to prepare in your own kitchen.
Class Length: 1.5 hours
Price: $20
Age Level: Teen to Adult
Class Time: Saturday, April 23rd at 6 pm

Jewelry Classes

Glass Tile Pendants(Chris Sorensen, instructor)
In this class you will create 5 glass tile pendants to wear using a variety of images from vintage
books/dictionaries, maps & other decorative papers. A fun and easy way to create wearable art!
Class Length: 1.5-2 hours
Price: $25
Kit includes: 5 glass tiles, 5 bails, 1 chain. Studio provides all other necessary materials.
Age Level: Teen to Adult
Class Times: Wednesday, April 13th at 6 pm

Spring Earrings(Beth Vilkas, instructor)
In this class you will be making a pair of earrings with sterling earwires and your choice of Swarovski crystal or semi precious beads.
Class Length: 1.5 hours
Price: $20
Studio will provide all necessary materials.
Age Level: Teen to Adult
Class Times: Saturday, April 30th at 1 pm

Needle Arts
Beginning Crochet(Amanda Smith, instructor)
In this class you will learn the basics of crochet. It is an easy and affordable craft! You will learn to put the yarn on the hook, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet and slip stitch. Your first project will be a washcloth.
Class Length: 1.5-2 hours
Price: $15
Kit Includes: 5 mm crochet hook, tapestry needle, yarn
Age Level: Teen to Adult
Class Time: Saturday, April 16th at 4 pm

Beginning Cross Stitch(Chris Sorensen, instructor)
In this class you will learn the basics of cross stitch and realize that stitching is cool! Using fun patterns you will create a stitched masterpiece.
Class Length: 1 hour(completed project will most likely take longer, please take home and finish at your
leisure.)
Price: $20
Kit Includes: 1 piece of aida cloth, selection of floss, needle, hoop. Studio provides all other necessary
materials.
Age Level: 10 yrs. To Adult
Class Times: Friday, April 8th at 2 pm & Wednesday, April 27th at 7 pm

Beginning Embroidery(Chris Sorensen, instructor)
In this class you will learn the basics of embroidery and realize that stitching is cool! Using modern and
chic patterns you will create a tea towel even Grandma would be proud of.
Class Length: 1 hour(completed project will most likely take longer, please take home and finish at your
leisure.)
Price: $20
Kit Includes: 1 towel blank, selection of embroidery floss, embroidery needle, hoop. Studio provides all
other necessary materials.
Age Level: 10 yrs. To Adult
Class Times: Friday, April 8th at 1 pm & Wednesday, April 27th at 6 pm

PLARN Knitting(Linda Zolten Wood, instructor)
In this class you will learn how to turn plastic grocery bags into useable items! Create a whimsical and unusual knitted pouch to use as a wallet, cell-phone case or more. Beginning knitting technique will be taught, and needles will be included. Please bring clean grocery bags in your favorite colors.
Class Length: 2 hours
Price: $30
Age Level: 12 years to Adult
Class Time: Saturday, April 29th at 3:00 pm

Paper Arts

Card Making(Rochelle Schiffbauer, instructor)
In this class you will create 3 iris folded greeting cards. Iris folding is a technique that originated in Holland where strips of folded paper are applied over a pattern to create a spiraling design that resembles the iris of an eye or camera.
Class Length: 1.5-2 hours
Price: $15
Studio provides all necessary materials to make 3 greeting cards.
Age Level: Teen to Adult
Class Time: Monday, April 18th at 6:30 pm
